Yasmin Bowers and Andrea Floyd started Consciously Rebuilding to address the pending post-Katrina issues of New Orleans--environment, social, health, economy. We believe in community empowerment and long term engagement in order to rebuild a sustainable and efficient New Orleans. Climate Change is among us, and education and behavioral modifications are key to ensure a positive future for generations to come. We are young, female, and African-American and have a duty to be positive role models for all those who identify with us. We use educational workshops, lectures, and motivational speaking to relate the "green sustainability" movement to health and wealth. It's time for everyone to exercise their civil and socioeconomic rights and take responsibility to create a better world.

Currently, Consciously Rebuilding is a program within HM Social Services, Inc. and will become its own 501c3 entity as we gain more experience, success, and mentorship under our umbrella organization.
