Consciously Rebuilding: We got a shout out on Q93

This morning around 745am, I received a text from a friend (Shelina) saying that Consciously Rebuilding just got a shout out on Q93's Real Talk Radio. Real Talk is a forum in which the state of New Orleans--the good and the bad--are discussed. Fortunately, Consciously Rebuilding's positive efforts were mentioned as some of the under-appreciated "good" that is often overshadowed by the City's negative issues. We appreciate our mention. The Conscious Mission

Consciously Rebuilding provides a community development service to addresses the health, social, and environmental dynamics of post-Katrina New Orleans through education and experiential learning. We promote conscious incremental lifestyle changes that mature into holistic individual, community, and environmental health. We educate marginalized populations that have been traditionally untapped by the “Green” Movement by translating the principles of “green” into priorities of financial capacity and health.

Who We Are

After earning their Masters in Public Health from Tulane SPH, Yasmin Bowers and Andrea Floyd teamed up to rebuild New Orleans. Consciously Rebuilding was created to provide services that address environmental, social, economical and infrastructural elements of building and rebuilding in a post-disaster region.

In the wake of Hurricanes Katrina and Rita, our experiences in a post-disaster region exposed the parallelism of environmental, social, and economic issues shared by other regions.

The communities we hope to serve starts with you. We will help communities that do not have a voice but a vision. This burgeoning vision will flourish through collaborative efforts and our passion for change.
